CTAI seeks comments on grant program

The Community Transportation Association of Idaho is accepting public comments through mid-July on its draft Rural Transportation Assistance Program (RTAP) application.

The RTAP is a federal program established and funded by the Federal Transit Administration (FTA).

The purpose of the program is to provide funds for the design and implementation of training and technical assistance projects and other support services tailored to meet the specific needs of transit operators in areas with a population of less than 50,000.

In Idaho, the Community Transportation Association of Idaho (CTAI) administers the RTAP program for the state and provides significant support and training for the transportation agencies in many rural areas of the state.

The Idaho RTAP program plan is available for public comment. The plan is being updated for 2013-2015. Proposed changes were identified through a survey of past users and under the guidance of the Idaho RTAP Statewide Advisory Committee. The plan can be reviewed in its previous format with recommended changes, or in its updated form.

Public comment will be accepted until July 15. Comments and questions may be submitted via email to Elsa MacDonald, CTAI Director of Programs at emacdonald@ctai.org or by mail comments to:
