On the downhill side

The replacement of a 78-year-old bridge over the Weiser River south of Weiser passed the halfway point just after the holiday, with the completion of Phase I of the project and the beginning of Phase II. The work on U.S. 95 is expected to be done by the end of this year. Traffic was switched July 8 from the old bridge to the new structure. During the next week, the contractor will begin to demolish the remainder of the old bridge.
