Employees encouraged to check new Learning Hub

The Human Resources Division Training & Development team is eager to offer you this new tool for monitoring and managing your own learning and professional development. Here are the features you can use today:

  • View Your Transcript – The transcript contains a list of both your Active and Completed training. Active training items are things you are scheduled to do, but have not yet completed.

Completed training items are things you have finished, and they have been marked complete on your transcript.

The Archived tab does not apply to our current business practices.

  • Browse the Catalog – The course catalog contains many different types of training – many subjects and many modes for learning. The different modes, like Instructor-led Events, Online Training, and Materials, are called Learning Objects. When you browse the catalog you can request these various Learning Objects and have them added to your Active transcript, so you can complete them.
  • Request Training – Anyone can request training that they find in the catalog. All training requests have to be approved by your supervisor. Some have additional levels of approval if there is a cost involved.

When you request training, it automatically shows on your Active transcript. If the training requires approval, it will show “Pending Approval” until all the approvals have been completed.

By default, you are able to request Instructor-led (live) training that is available in your region (either your district or headquarters). To request training outside of your region requires an exemption that your supervisor must approve.

  • Approve Training (supervisors only) – As a supervisor, you will be notified by email when one of your employees requests training. You have the option of approving or denying that training. Whatever you decide, the employee is notified of your decision via email.

When you approve training, it changes the status on the employee’s transcript to “Approved.”

Training & Development is in the process of transferring all of our existing training records into the Learning Hub. It only needs to be done once, but it is a process that takes some time. When the process is complete, we will place a notification on the Welcome Page of the Learning Hub.

Please let us know if you have questions or feedback. We are eager to make this an effective tool for your professional learning and development.
