ITD repairs barriers damaged by vehicle crashes

ITD’s southwest Idaho maintenance crews have done a number of highway repairs in the region lately – not on the roadway surface, but on the barriers put in place to protect drivers.

On Friday (Aug. 2) a truck crashed through and dislodged a section of guardrail on the side of Idaho 21 just south of the Lucky Peak road turnoff. That section was repaired the following Monday. Crews replaced one 10-foot concrete rail and one terminal end.

The next day (Tuesday), crews repaired a section of the I-84 median between Cole/Overland and Orchard that had been damaged the previous week by a passenger car. Approximately 60 feet of solid concrete median had been damaged and was replaced on the interstate.
