Curtain rises on 2014 Legislature next week

Gov. C.L. “Butch” Otter will set the stage for Idaho government’s 2014 agenda when he presents the annual State of the State and budget address Monday afternoon. The 2014 Idaho Legislature officially convenes about an hour before his address, at noon in the Idaho Capitol.

Legislative business begins in earnest on Tuesday with a welcome and introductions by co-chairmen, a review of the governor’s recommendations by Jani Revier, administrator of the Division of Financial Management, and a review of 2014-2015 budget scenarios by Cathy Holland-Smith, manager of the Division of Budget & Policy Analysis.

ITD Director Brian Ness will provide an overview of the department and its strategic plan goals and accomplishments of 2013 when he speaks to members of the House and Senate Germane Committee on Jan. 28.

He will present the FY 2015 budget request to the Joint Finance Appropriations Committee on Feb. 10.
