Public transportation groups to meet Jan. 21

The Interagency Working Group (IWG), a coalition of state agencies and organizations providing guidance on public transportation issues, and the Idaho Mobility Council (IMC) will meet Tuesday (Jan. 21) from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. in Boise.

The combined group will meet from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. in the Senate Majority Caucus Room with Sen. Shawn Keough, from Sandpoint, at the Idaho State Capitol Building. The two groups will continue meeting from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. in the JR Williams East Conference Room at 700 W. State Street in Boise.

The public is invited to attend or may participate via telephone by contacting Marsha Bracke at marsha@marshabracke.com or by dialing (208) 472-8841 at least 24 hours before the meeting to receive a call-in phone number.

Keough will discuss the need for and intent of having the two groups involved with public transportation issues. Beginning at 2 p.m., the two groups will review interagency data collected and issues regarding public transportation services, barriers and coordination needs.

IWG's mission is to provide leadership in developing coordinated, responsible and integrated public transportation systems in Idaho. The IMC provides leadership, enhances coordination and leverages funds for Idaho's mobility system. The group includes members of the Public Transportation Advisory Council and the IWG.
