Communications wins four "Best of 2013" awards from Idaho Press Club

ITD's Office of Communications brought home four awards in the Public Relations category from the Idaho Press Club's annual awards ceremony in downtown Boise Saturday night (May 3). News media and public relations professionals from throughout the state gathered for the awards presentation.

Bruce King took first place in Feature Writing for a story called "It's a good sign," and Reed Hollinshead took first in News Releases for a selection of three that included rock patrol, a 99-year-old bridge in Weiser, and goats used as weed mowers. King took second in the category for his three, which included osprey relocation, Thornton to Rexburg, and 42 projects in eastern Idaho. Tony Garcia, Adam Rushand District 3's Mark Campbell joined with Rosemary Curtin and Kate Nice, from RBCI, for the Broadway Bridge website in the Website ­ Special Purpose category.

It marks the third time in four years Office of Communications has won the top spots in both writing categories. This also marks the fourth year in a row King has received an award, and the fifth consecutive year for Hollinshead. ITD's Office of Communications has won 41 Idaho Press Club awards in the last five years.

It marked the sixth year in a row the communications office has been recognized for writing excellence. The office also has been recognized by IPC for exemplary achievement in media campaigns, public service campaigns, media kits, publications, online public involvement efforts, special-purpose website, script writing, social media, and brand management initiatives over the years.
