DMV untangles title transfer mystery

Transferring a vehicle title usually is a simple process. Usually.

But Richland, Wash., resident Marilee Matheson recently discovered it doesn’t always happen like clockwork. That’s when she contacted the ITD Division of Motor Vehicles for assistance.

“I recently had a problem in transferring the title on a car we sold, and the people in your office were fantastic in helping me get everything straightened out,” Matheson recently wrote in expressing her appreciation.

“I worked with both MaryAnne (Thorpe) and Erik (Lawson), and they were both so kind and patient with my questions. They explained the situation and exactly what needed to be done to resolve it … (They) did as much as possible on their end to help everything go smoothly.

“They were absolutely wonderful to work with. Thanks for such great service.”

Their efforts prove that going the extra mile can make a difficult journey a lot smoother.
