Revis joins ITD as new district engineer in Boise July 21

After three decades at the Washington State Department of Transportation in the Longview and Tumwater offices, Amy Revis joins ITD as the new district engineer for District 3 July 21.

"I am pleased to announce Amy Revis as the new D3 district engineer," Chief Operating Officer Jim Carpenter said in his announcement earlier this week.  "Amy has worked as a construction engineer. Her experience includes managing WashDOT's first Design-Build, developing the Olympic Region's Environmental Commitment process, overseeing construction and developing employees."

Revis was raised in Vancouver, Wash., and has stayed in the Evergreen State. She's lived in Longview, Naselle and Chehalis, Wash. She graduated from Washington State University in 1982, and took a job with WSDOT upon graduation. Thirty-one years later, she's ready to leave it behind.

Revis is looking forward to the challenges and opportunities that await.

"I have a lot to learn about ITD's day-to-day maintenance operations, as my experience so far has been as a partner to ensure that the projects we build can be maintained. I look forward to engaging with local communities to understand their needs and concerns so that the projects and services we deliver serve our citizens well," she explained.

She and her husband, Don, have three children. Daughter Tatjana, 30, is a lawyer in Tillamook, Ore. Daughter Kelli, 26, is a civil engineer in La Grande, Ore. The youngest, Jacob, is a 22-year-old senior at Boise State University studying accounting.

She enjoys gardening, crafts, baking and spending time with her family.

Revis said that the catalyst for her to apply for the job was that "Professionally, I was ready for a new challenge after 10 years in my current position. Personally, my husband and I both like the Boise area for its great weather and recreational opportunities, as well as putting us much closer to two of our children while not too far from our third child and new grandson."

Most recently, Revis had been the assistant regional construction engineer in the Tumwater office since Dec. 2004, managing five project offices. For the 10 years before that, she managed an office of up to 32 engineers as an area engineer in Kelso, Wash.
