DMV customer service earns kudos for going above and beyond

ITD's ongoing commitment to customer service recently prompted a communication about a contact with the Division of Motor Vehicles from Jack Lyman, executive vice president of the Idaho Mining Association, to Sen. Bert Brackett and Rep. Joe A. Palmer -- two Idaho legislators.

To: Senator Bert Brackett; Representative Joe A. Palmer

Bert and Joe,
I just bought my son's Honda and decided to get veteran plates for it, I called into ITD to see how to proceed and connected with Sharon Neumann. She was willing to give me her email address so I could scan the application form and my DD-214 (Army discharge document) and send them directly to her. I was reluctant to put my credit card information (including security code) on an application form that might get into the wrong hands so she offered to call me when she got the application and take that information over the phone.

I want you both to know how exceptionally pleased I was with the service offered by ITD and, specifically, by Sharon. She went above and beyond what I would have thought was the standard for service and I really appreciated her efforts. You should be pleased to know that you have such friendly, dedicated and hard-working employees working at the department.

Jack Lyman
Executive Vice President
Idaho Mining Association
