Transportation Performance services to merge with similar sections in ITD

On Monday, ITD will take another step in its realignment to be more efficient and bring greater consistency to department services and products. The department will merge services within the Division of Transportation Performance with similar sections in other ITD divisions.

“This realignment will allow ITD to be a more unified organization and help amplify what we do in a common, focused direction,” said Chief Deputy Scott Stokes.

Under this new structure, planning services for highways, rail, bike and pedestrian will all work as a united function. Freight outreach and planning will combine with ITD’s Mobility Services section. Public Transportation will combine with the department’s Contracting Services section.

Public transportation will also gain a new dedicated program manager to supervise grant officers, oversee activities such as the Interagency Working Group and the Public Transportation Advisory Council, and work with related contractors and stakeholders.  Monica Crider, Contracting Services, will be recruiting for a new program manager immediately.

Erica Bowen in Headquarters’ Planning Services will manage the combined planning activities and Nestor Fernandez will oversee freight- and mobility-related activities.

Highway Safety Manager Brent Jennings, who has served as interim division administrator for Transportation Performance, will serve as the interim program manager for Public Transportation until the new manager is on board and the transition is complete.
