Incident Response driver Nick Jones receives kudos, twice

One of the Incident Response drivers, Nick Jones, was recently the subject of a pair of emails sent in by customers complimenting Jones and his delivery of exemplary customer service. Here are those kudos:

Received Sept. 4:

From Wade Yearsley: Just wanted to express our thanks to the Boise Incident Response person who helped us yesterday on I-84 just past Cole Road. Our left rear tire came off and went bounding off through four lanes of traffic. By some great miracle, there was no damage to surrounding traffic, including our own vehicle. We wanted to extend our gratitude to the individual who responded to our accident and helped us retrieve our tire and make sure we had help on the way. Thanks for your assistance and calming influence. All is well and we have safely arrived at our destination.

Jones' response: I was sent to this call by Idaho State Police at 2:40 p.m., on westbound I-84 at milepost 49. It came in as a large truck that lost an axle and was reported on the median side. Once I got there, I realized it was a pickup towing a boat on the right shoulder. The left rear tire and wheel were missing. I stopped to talk with them and make sure they were OK. They had just come from Les Schwab and had already called them for help. Their wheel was about 500 feet ahead of us on the median wall. I managed to get through traffic to grab it and get it to them before the tow truck arrived. Amazing it didn't hit any vehicles…considering traffic had already started piling up for rush hour. It was pretty straightforward stuff. They were a nice couple - hopefully Les Schwab took care of them.

Received Sept. 5:

From Tom Huegerich: I would like to report that Nick Jones, Incident Response #3055, represents your office with a high degree of professionalism. Nick assisted my family on I-84 near Cole Road a few weeks ago because of a blown flat tire on our trailer. It was a stressful place to have a flat with all the traffic driving past my family. Nick went right to work helping remove my blown tire and kept us safe while replacing it with the spare. I can't thank Nick enough and I want to thank Idaho Transportation Department for having an Incident Response team out on the Idaho highways. It's invaluable to helping families and keeping us all safe. I strongly support the Incident Response team and amazing workers like Nick. Nick is talented, efficient, helpful and just the guy you need when you need assistance. I have two young children who were waiting in my truck along a busy highway and Nick got us back on the road safely in less than 15 minutes.
