Idaho to host National Association of State Aviation Officials in 2015

The Division of Aeronautics is proud to announce that Boise has been chosen as the host location of the 84th annual convention and tradeshow for the National Association of State Aviation Officials (NASAO) on Sept. 20-22, 2015. Division staff will work closely with NASAO staff to coordinate the convention and showcase our state.

The NASAO Annual Convention and Tradeshow brings state aviation officials and members of the aviation community together to discuss issues facing the industry today and tomorrow. Forums feature key executives from industry and government discussing the current state of affairs of the general aviation (GA) community, a candid look at regulatory and legislative issues, GA security and other issues facing states and airports.

Other topics to be discussed include unmanned aircraft integration, airport infrastructure investment and alternate aviation fuels and climate change.

At the 2014 conference in Rhode Island, Aeronautics Division Administrator Mike Pape was elected to serve as regional director for the NASAO Northwest Mountain Region for the 2014-15 year.

It was been 58 years since the NASAO convention was hosted in Idaho.

“Idaho was selected in 2015 for many reasons, most notably our reputation for backcountry airstrip preservation,” Pape said.
