Wright earns kudos for assisting frazzled Farmer on freeway

ITD’s Incident Response team in District 3 has earned numerous kudos in their two decades of assisting Treasure Valley drivers. For Jim Farmer, that history didn’t matter – what did resonate was the help he received from Kyle Wright on a dark, wet and cold late-November evening.

Farmer and his wife had just left the Boise airport on Nov. 20 on their way to their home more than an hour away in Nyssa, Oregon.

“One of our tires went flat while on the freeway,” explained Farmer. “I fumbled in the back of the car for my jack and spare while my wife looked for instructions in the owner’s manual.”

A wave of relief came over me when Kyle pulled up in an ITD truck and started to help. He had a real jack and a flashlight. He had me on my way in no time. Not only did he save me from a lot of grief, he made everyone else on the freeway safer by getting me off the side of the road.”

Thanks to Kyle and the ITD.”
