Annual D4 Christmas Party raises spirits, money

Each year, ITD’s District 4 office donates the proceeds of their employee Christmas party to worthy local charities, and this year’s efforts for about 100 employees on Dec. 9 netted $3,400 and canned food to be split among the groups.

Three food banks benefitted:

-Helping Hands of Custer County (Challis/Stanley)
-Shoshone Food Pantry
-The Mini-Cassia Christmas Council (Heyburn)

In addition, two other charities (and a repeat from the list above) benefitted from the money raised in the silent auction:

-East End Providers (Kimberly)
-The Mini-Cassia Christmas Council (Heyburn)
-The Hunger Coalition (Bellevue)

“This year we did exceptionally well with our prize donations, and it enticed many to both purchase raffle tickets and participate in our silent auction,” said Christmas Committee Chair Sydney Lewis, D4 GIS Analyst.

“This is an amazing and wonderful time for us on the Christmas Committee. It means we’ll be delivering checks and a generous amount of canned goods to all of our charities,” she added.
