Farrell, Klopman promoted in District 1 maintenance

Ross Farrell (St. Maries) and Tom Klopman (Sandpoint) were recently promoted to foremen positions within the District 1 maintenance family, overseeing nearly 600 miles of roadway, 25 employees and a big happy family.

Farrell (pictured to right) has been with District 1 for eight years. He will oversee a staff of 12 employees and three maintenance sheds - St. Maries, Plummer and Santa - and will provide maintenance on U.S. 95, Idaho 3, Idaho 5, Idaho 6, Idaho 58 and Idaho 60, totaling 281 lane miles.

It is a homecoming for Farrell, who is originally from St. Maries and is excited about going home, according to District 1 Administrative Manager Scotty Fellom. Farrell is also the son-in-law of former maintenance foreman Dave Autio, who retired from ITD three of four years ago with more than 30 years at the helm.

Klopman (pictured below) has worked for ITD for four years. He will be supervising maintenance sheds in Sandpoint, Clark Fork and Priest River, and will be supervising a staff of 13 employees Klopman's roadways include 309 lane miles over sections of U.S. 95, Idaho 200, Idaho 2 and Idaho 57.

"Both gentlemen are great to work with and will continue to be great assets to us as they start their new responsibilities," said Fellom. "We are excited to have them on our D1 team."

Farrell was a TT Senior on the D1 Vegetation Crew. Klopman was a TT Senior with the Clark Fork shed, which is under the Sandpoint shed's jurisdiction.
