Free workshop in McCall Feb. 19 shows
how to do business with the government

Learn basic guidelines for doing business with the government at a free workshop Thursday, Feb. 19, from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Idaho Department of Labor, 299 S. 3rd St., McCall.

This half-day workshop will provide participants new information, along with an overview on bidding with ITD, requirements for bidding as a federal contractor, and services available, such as free bid-matching and help responding to Requests for Proposals (RFPs) from the Idaho Procurement Technical Assistance Center. The program will feature presenters from the Idaho Transportation Department (ITD), the U.S. Forest Service, Idaho Procurement Technical Assistance Center (PTAC) and the U.S. Small Business Administration.

Participants will learn how to find government projects that are out for bid, required licenses and registrations, and the differences between state and federal contracting.

Other topics to be covered include the U.S. Department of Transportation's Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) program, 8(a) Business Development Program, HUBZone Certification, Women-Owned Small Business (WOSB) other business certifications and where to go for assistance.
