Idaho's Public Transportation Advisory Council (PTAC) will select a new leader, review applications for new members and discuss an agreement extension when the group meets March 11 in Boise.

The meeting is open to the public and will be held Wednesday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Idaho Transportation Department (ITD) Headquarters, 3311 W. State St. A teleconference of the meeting is also available. People may participate by calling (888) 706-6468 toll free and entering participant code 64827943.

Besides selecting a new chairman for the group, PTAC members will review applications for new members to represent north Idaho (District 1) and south-central Idaho (District 4), explained ITD Public Transportation Manager Mark Bathrick.

The council will also review a proposed plan to extend current public transportation agreements to match the federal fiscal year and provide for a more streamlined and effective awarding method.

The group will set goals and objectives for 2015, and participants will learn about workshops held recently throughout Idaho.

PTAC was established by Idaho Code (40-514) to participate in public transportation activities, identify needs and promote transportation systems.
