Grants of up to $60,000 available through April 24
from Idaho ADA Curb Ramp Program

Grants of up to $60,000 are available to organizations statewide through April 24 via the Idaho Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) Curb Ramp Program. Local jurisdictions — cities, counties and highway districts — and tribal governments are eligible to submit an application. Funds will be used for construction in 2016.

The Idaho (ADA) Curb Ramp Program is a state-administered program providing funding for projects to build or correct curb ramps on the state highway system, which is ITD's responsibilityt.

ITD is allocating $500,000 of state funds annually for this program. Applicants can qualify for up to $60,000 in state funding to construct new or alter existing curb ramps.

"The goal of the program is to provide accessible facilities for pedestrians with disabilities while allowing local jurisdiction flexibility in meeting the required standards," said Kelly DiRocco, manager of ITD's Curb Ramp Program.

Applications are available on the ITD website at www.itd.idaho.gov, under the Bike/Pedestrian link on the left-hand side of the page and the ADA Curb Ramp Program
