Employee appreciation time is here, ITD activities planned statewide

Honoring the compassion, professionalism and commitment of Idaho's public employees, Gov. C.L. “Butch” Otter proclaimed May 4-8 Public Employee Recognition Week and May 6 as State Employee Recognition Day.

Read the proclamation.

Employee recognition activities are encouraged and planned at Headquarters and throughout the department’s six districts.

ITD Headquarters will hold activities throughout the week for its employees. District activities are also planned to recognized employees.

District 1 has scheduled an Employee Appreciation Barbecue for the district’s employees on May 28. Last year, more than 110 employees attended.

District 2 will hold a combination retirement/employee appreciation luncheon on Wednesday, May 13, for all staff.

District 3 will be conducting shed visits in May and June to recognize its employees for the work they do.

District 4 is holding a “milk can” lunch for employees on May 21. Everyone is invited to bring something sweet for a dessert competition.

District 5 has an employee appreciation brunch planned May 28, featuring main courses and D5 leaders providing side dishes. There are rumors of waffles.

District 6 has its Employee Appreciation lunch set for May 14 at its maintenance yard in Driggs. Besides burgers, hot dogs and fixings, a Dutch oven desert competition is planned with a prize promised to be “worth your while.”
