Garden City’s West Pedestrian Bridge linking south to north

Garden City’s West Pedestrian Bridge, a 180-foot by 12-foot pedestrian and bicycle bridge, was set into place May 1.

The project, administered by ITD’s District 3, with a combination of federal and local funding sources, will provide a vital Greenbelt link between the newly constructed 3.2 miles of pathway on the south side of the river to the north side of the Boise River.

Construction started in early 2015 and is scheduled to conclude in June 2015. Concrete decking and pathway approaches still need to be completed before the bridge opens to the public, according to Garden City officials.

The project was built by Knife River and was engineered by J-U-B Engineers Inc. Contech Engineering Solutions built the bridge structure.
