ITD selects regional public transportation advocates

Public transportation activities throughout Idaho will gain needed support following announcement of awardees for the Mobility Support Services Agreement by ITD’s Public Transportation Group.

ITD’s Mobility Support Services program provides structured and coordinated outreach to local groups, companies, entities and individuals that are interested or already involved in public transportation.

The awardees are:

- District 1: Panhandle Area Council Inc., John Austin and Sherri Wastweet

- District 2: Clearwater Economic Development Association, Deb Smith

- District 3: Treasure Valley Transit, Terri Lindenberg

- District 4: Region IV Development, Joe Herring and Ben Peck

- Districts 5 & 6: Southeast Idaho Council of Governments, Dave Doran

“We are excited to work with each of these awardees to advance public transportation knowledge and participation throughout Idaho,” said Lori Garza, Grants/Contracts officer for ITD Public Transportation.

The award recipients will be required to develop a contact list of those interested in public transportation in their regions in addition to a communication plan that includes information specific to their regions, Garza explained. The recipients also will develop and execute an implementation plan meant to track the method and status of outreach efforts using the communication plan each recipient develops.
