District 3 crews earn kudos from public on project construction, timing

ITD southwest Idaho crews were recently praised by the traveling public for work on the Orchard Street bridge (pictured below) and the timing of a chip seal on Idaho 16 near Firebird Raceway.

Comment: “Regarding the work done recently on the Orchard Street bridge (over I-84).  I just wanted to give kudos to the team that worked on that project.  I work at Orchard & Irving and my morning commute is Chinden to Orchard.  That project was one of the smoothest road projects I have ever witnessed.  Not once did I ever feel any frustration coming to or leaving work.  The traffic flowed smoothly and even backed up quite a bit at times, but it was handled perfectly.  Great job!” Pictured below is the nighttime Orchard work; photo courtesy RBCI

Comment:  “I race at Firebird Raceway. Imagine my concern when I saw the readerboard with the chip seal warning on the way out this past Saturday. Was glad to not see it happening. Then they announced that ITD had worked with them to postpone the sealing until after the Oldies Race. I just want to say THANK YOU! With the time and cost of paint jobs, it was greatly appreciated. It's nice every now and then when common sense and understanding exists in a government agency. Again, Thanks!”
