Commercial Services’ Starr lives up to name in eyes of customer

ITD’s Gina Starr (pictured right) was recently recognized for her handling of a delicate vehicle-licensing issue in eastern Idaho in mid-June. Starr has been with ITD since the spring of 2009.

Lynx Vice President Doreen Horn sent a letter to Joyce Smithers, Gina Starr’s supervisor in ITD Commercial Services in Boise, commending Starr for stepping in to guide her through the process of registering her fleet of interstate commercial vehicles, which can be overwhelming for someone who has never done it before.

Doreen's company normally hires a third-party licensing agent to handle this aspect of the business, but suddenly the task fell to Horn. Doreen called ITD in a panic and Starr answered the call. Starr helped Horn understand the numerous federal and state requirements regarding an interstate-trucking operation, and how to comply with those requirements. Starr's assistance helped Doreen keep her business up and running legally and worry free.

 The letter said, in part:

“Thank goodness you have exemplary people like Gina available to lead us along in our times of frustration and need. Gina went way above and beyond the extra mile in serving me. She took the time to go over all of the reports I would need, the dates, the information I needed to gather and assured me your office would be there to assist me with this seemingly overwhelming new responsibility. I can't thank her enough for all of her service and I am glad to know she is there to help us.”
