Bryant’s award-winning photography continues years later

Dan Bryant has been producing winning photography for more than a decade at ITD, starting in 2001 with recognition from the Federal Highway Administration for pictures of flowers taken on roadsides during his days as a foreman working out of the District 3 maintenance shed at Banks.  

Bryant, now the Maintenance Coordinator for District 3, said that his expertise behind the lens comes not from any class he’s taken, but from a source much closer. “My wife is into photography, and I used to read her magazines and learn from her,” he explained.

Although the FHWA contest faded away a few years ago, ITD employees, including Bryant, Jack Gant (who won a photography award in the contest's first year, 1998), Kathy Ford and Bruce Drewes, regularly performed very well in the national contest.
