Incident Response’s Jones earns nod for motorist assist

In his 12 years with Incident Response, Nick Jones (pictured below) has earned kudos from many appreciative motorists for his assistance. The latest nod came in early January from a driver who had blown a tire on the westbound freeway in the most heavily traveled part of the interstate.

In a message to ITD's Facebook account, driver Casey Denham said, "I just wanted to say thanks to your Incident-Response team. On Jan. 8, at about 1 p.m., I blew a tire in my work van on the interstate between the Flying Wye and Eagle Road. As I was getting out of my vehicle to change the tire, a motorist who had drifted off to the side of the road came within a couple inches of hitting me. Naturally, that startled the holy daylights out of me. I called ISP and asked if someone could come park behind me with their lights on while I changed my tire.

"About 10 min later, a gentleman with Incident Response showed up. He was very nice, and even replaced my tire for me, which I was not expecting. It took him only a few minutes to get the job done, and I was on my way. I do not remember the gentleman's name, but I am very grateful, and just wanted to say thank you for everything y'all do. Thanks again."
