Mountain Rides now serving south end of Wood River Valley Mountain Rides in the Sun Valley area now has a major transportation facility in the south end of the Wood River Valley. The new South Valley facility gives Mountain Rides a major anchor at both ends of the valley. More than 50 local, state and federal officials attended the grand-opening ceremony Feb. 1 for the new 6,300-square-foot South Valley bus facility in Bellevue. The $1.8 million facility will be a permanent docking station for up tosix buses, with a state-of-the-art maintenance facility and a park-n-ride lot. Participants included nearly every valley mayor, the Idaho Transportation Department and the Federal Transit Administration. Mountain Rides is the second-largest transit company in Idaho, serving approximately 500,000 riders annually in one of the nation's most famous resort communities.
