Minzghor named new ITD eastern Idaho District Engineer

Jason B. Minzghor (pronounced MINCE-gurr), who has served the transportation community in northern Idaho for nearly 17 years, is the new District 6 engineer for the Idaho Transportation Department (ITD). Minzghor will assume leadership of District 6, which is the department’s eastern Idaho region, on March 7.

ITD Chief Operations Officer Jim Carpenter announced the selection of Minzghor this morning (Friday, Feb. 19). Minzghor (pictured right) has been the District 1 operations manager in Coeur d’Alene since 2013. He succeeds Kimbol Allen, who in January was named administrator of the Division of Engineering Plans and Products/Chief Engineer for ITD.

Minzghor will supervise 138 employees in Bonneville, Butte, Clark, Custer, Fremont, Jefferson, Lemhi, Madison and Teton counties, overseeing design, construction and maintenance of the state highway system of more than 2,300 lane miles and 350 bridges in eastern Idaho.

Minzghor, 41, earned his engineering degree from the University of Idaho in 1997. He started his career with ITD in 1999. He has held management positions in project development, construction and maintenance operations at ITD’s District 1 office.

"I am very excited about this new appointment, which is a great opportunity for me," Minzghor said. "I look forward to being a part of the great team in District 6, and I wish to thank everyone at District 1 for their support. They have truly been my second family."

Jason was born in Calgary, Canada, and raised in Coeur d’Alene. He and his wife, Amy, are the parents of eight children. They plan to move to the Upper Valley this spring.
