to westbound facility

Repairs have been made to the westbound Juniper Rest Area and the facility is open for use, following extensive vandalism in early February. The men’s restroom has been closed since the incident.

The total cost for repairs was $13,000 and was completed by contract and state forces.

The Juniper Rest Area is located along Interstate 84 in southwest Oneida County, about seven miles north of the Utah border.

A mirror, sink and urinals were damaged in the Feb. 4 incident. The damage was discovered when janitorial staff arrived for morning cleaning duties. The women’s and family facilities were not damaged.

No witnesses or information about the incident has been reported to law enforcement.
