ITD offers construction consultants, contractors new business tool

New technology will help make it easier for construction consultants and contractors to do business with the Idaho Transportation Department. The new “Customer Service Gateway” program allows more direct access to the AASHTOWare Project SiteManager software program that is used to manage the department’s construction activities statewide.

“We appreciate all the work that the ITD team has put into coordinating the use of the ITD Customer Gateway with us,” said Megan Kautz, Local Highways Technical Assistance Council’s (LHTAC) engineer.

The new technology allows ITD’s partners to access SiteManager anytime and anywhere they have an Internet connection. There is no waiting to sign in to the virtual private network (VPN) and hunting for the SiteManager shortcut. Now, SiteManager access is only a few clicks away.

“We have found that accessing SiteManager through the Customer Gateway is much faster, less cumbersome, and affords us a level of efficiency that we did not have before,” Kautz explained. “We look forward to more VPN alternatives to come.”

Construction consultants and contractors who wish to register for SiteManager access through ITD’s Customer Gateway need to contact their respective district’s design construction engineer (resident engineer).
