American Public Transportation Association selects Bathrick
for Early Career Program

Idaho Transportation Department Public Transportation Manager Mark Bathrick has been selected to participate in the American Public Transportation Association’s Class of 2017 Early Career Program (ECP). The yearlong program begins with a conference in mid-June in Phoenix, Arizona.

Bathrick will attend the three-day ECP conference June 16-18, followed by the APTA Rail Conference June 19-22. It concludes with a capstone/graduation prior to the Bus and Paratransit Conference in 2017.

“It is an honor to be chosen for this national program,” said Bathrick. “It will allow me to continue to develop both personally and professionally, and will help me grow my managerial skills that will be an asset for the department. It is exciting to be one of only 30 people chosen for this prestigious program nationwide.”

Sessions will cover communications skills, administration, project management, supervisory skills, career development and goal setting, plus roundtable discussions addressing transit-industry challenges and related topics.

Bathrick also will meet with some industry mentors and engage in dialogues with industry leadership, and participate in a 10-month mentorship program starting in July.
