District 5 celebrates employees May 26

District 5 celebrated the contributions of all 145 employees in the Pocatello main office and outlying sheds with an appreciation luncheon May 26 provided by district leadership. The event had been delayed due to the Foreman's Conference and ITD Board meeting earlier in the month.

Each leader spent some time at the microphone during the event, recognizing their crews' achievements during the past year. One of the best moments of the event was the unveiling of the cake in the photo, which was made, freehand, by Amy Richards (spouse of Pocatello maintenance foreman Anthony Richards).

"Amy's contribution to our event was so appreciated by everyone," said District Engineer Ed Bala. "We were all surprised and profoundly grateful for the really cool work that went into it. In addition to being beautiful, it was delicious. Thanks, Amy!”
