District 1 celebrates employees with feast June 2

More than 80 District 1 employees participated in the Employee Appreciation barbecue and service award recognition on Thursday, June 2 in Coeur d’Alene. District leadership prepared and cooked the food for the annual event.

“It is always good when we all can get together and re-connect,” noted District Business Manager Scotty Fellom. “The food was great and so was the company.”

District Engineer Damon Allen thanked the employees for their hard work during the last year, and reiterated the department's goals and objectives as the new fiscal year looms. He also recognized all of the service-award recipitants, recent retirees and specifically mentioned Gary Rowles, the district's longtime Auto Body & Fender Technician, who passed away only three days after he officially retired.

Some employees really embraced the effort, such as D1 Materials Engineer Jeff Drager, below.
