Grangeville paving work praised by locals

A letter was sent to Knife River Corp.’s South Idaho headquarters in Boise at the end of August from Sam & Carol Yalbow of Grangeville, praising the contractor for the recent repaving done on U.S. 95 from W. South 1st Street to Johnston Road, and on Grangeville Main Street (Idaho 13). The letter typified public sentiment ITD has heard regarding the job.

The projects benefitted the public by extending pavement life, improving 11 curb ramps, replacing culverts, and upgrading multiple signs.

“Thank you for the beautiful job you did paving Highway 95 outside Grangeville and on Grangeville Main Street. We weren’t inconvenienced much at all, and the road is awesome! Thanks for the pleasure we have every time we use the road – our cars like it, too!” the letter stated.

District 2’s Stencil & Striping Crew, led by foreman Rod Parsells, applied new pavement markings and striping once the roadwork was completed.

This $2.3 million project began in late May and finished in early September.
