Transportation council to meet in Boise
The Public Transportation Advisory Council will
meet from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. on March 11 at ITD Headquarters.
The meeting will be in the west annex building conference
room, 3293 Jordan St., Boise. The advisory council is composed
of one member from each of Idahos six districts and
advises ITD on issues and policies regarding public transportation
in Idaho.
The meeting includes federal reauthorization
funding for public transportation systems and discussion with
ITD Director Dave Ekern about Idahos Transportation
Future: getting there together, a draft 30-year vision
for statewide transportation development. The meeting is open
to the public.
Use crosswalks and walk with the light
The most direct route for ITD employees crossing
State Street may be a straight line, but it's also the most
dangerous. Boise City Police recently relayed a motorist's
complaint about ITD employees who cross against the traffic
control lights at the crosswalks and those who do not use
crosswalks. Police ask ITD workers to comply with crossing
signals so direct patrols and citations won't be necessary.
