By Erika Stoddard Not only will the Web presence increase the program’s exposure to recent graduates in search of jobs, it also will inform ITD employees about what is expected of EITs during their four-year training period before obtaining their professional engineering license. Over the past two months the EITs, with support from Cynthia Gardner and other Corporate IT staff, created a Web site to showcase all aspects of the EIT program. The site includes information about ITD, the EIT program, qualifications to apply for the program, where to apply, advancements and testimonials from past and present EITs. The Web site encapsulates the program and places all the information in a centralized location. The EITs also are working on a supplementary Web site to be placed on ITD’s Intranet that will honor all past EITs and provide information about current EITs. EITs represent a unique workforce at ITD with their somewhat brief rotations through departments in the districts and at Headquarters. There is not always enough time to get to know them, but the internal Web site will provide an introduction of who the EITS are, what they are doing and what projects they have worked on. Employees also will be able to discover which of your fellow co-workers were once ITD EITs. Please take a moment to visit the EIT Web site at: http://itd.idaho.gov/EIT/ Published 3-23-07 |
