Loop installed as Junior National Director of
Idaho Society of Professional Engineers

Stephen Loop, QPL program administrator in ITD’s Materials Section, was installed as the Junior National Director for the Idaho Society of Professional Engineers (ISPE) at its state convention March 23 in Boise. With the recent restructuring of the National Society of Professional Engineers (NSPE), Loop will serve for the next two years as Idaho’s backup delegate and then two years as the delegate to the NSPE House of Delegates. This is the policy making body of the NSPE. Loop will assume his new position on July 1.

ISPE is the Idaho state society of engineering professionals from all disciplines (including civil, mechanical, computer, electrical, chemical...) that promotes the ethical and competent practice of engineering, advocates licensure, and enhances the image and well-being of its members.

Loop’s other professional activities have included:

  • Transportation Research Board, bicycling and bicycle facilities committee, past member.
Loop also has been involved in civic activities, having served on the board of directors for the West Valley Neighborhood Association since 1998 and as co-chairman of the Five Mile & Ustick Neighborhood Center Planning Committee from 1998 through 2002. He is serving his second term as president of the association.
