What a magnificent airport park

As Key Man of the Quiet Birdmen Soquel-Monterey Bay Hangar, I wish to compliment the state of Idaho and your staff for the excellent Johnson Creek Airport Park. This past weekend, we had our annual “wing ding,” (fly-in) using this facility as our base with 20 aircraft and 29 pilots and friends attending.

Although others have participated in this event over the past years, this was my first trip. I was indeed impressed!

What a magnificent spot! The entire park is extremely well cared for, and all amenities are impeccably maintained, thanks to the caretakers Gene and Cody Hargett. Their courtesy, “can-I-help-you” attitude and the cleanliness of the campsites, showers and toilets were exceptional. The employment of this is an exceptional example of the connection of two people to their love of nature.

During the four-day weekend we spent in the park, I did not hear a single complaint. My hat is off to the Idaho Transportation Department’s Division of Aeronautics, and, of course, to Gene and Cody. We plan on a return trip July 2009.
