ITD to participate in procession honoring fallen deputy

Nearly 300 police cars will make the trip from the ITD maintenance facility at Council to New Meadows on U.S. 95 Tuesday afternoon in tribute to fallen Adam's County Sheriff's deputy Leroy Matthews.
 
Matthews was killed July 6 in an automobile crash on U.S. 95 near Tamarack.
 
The 200-300-car funeral procession will begin at 12:45 p.m. on Tuesday from the Council maintenance facility, and proceeds toward New Meadows High School. The funeral will begin at 2 p.m.
 
ITD crews will set up traffic control at Council and New Meadows to assist with the ceremony.
