Are your ready for the flu season?

Surface contact is one of the primary ways H1N1 Flu is being transferred. Keep your office, meeting space and eating surfaces clean. Don't touch your eyes, nose, or mouth with your hands. Limit handshaking and cover sneezes with your elbow. Stay home if you are sick.

Is your office flu proof? Set up your defense by keeping the following ready for use:

• Tissue
• Hand sanitizer
• Disinfectant wipes
• A “flu proof” your office desk card
• Flu prevention posters

Tip: Use a disinfectant wipe to clean your computer mouse, phone, keyboard, favorite pen/pencil and printer/copier keys. Wash your coffee or water cup daily.

Don't put it off – do it now.

Resources

• Get the flu facts from the CDC. Check out Seasonal Flu (http://www.cdc.gov/h1n1flu/business/ )

Remember...
Wash your hands often and well. The Center for Disease Control (CDC) recommends 20 seconds of lathering (most people wash for less than 10 seconds!). Hum or sing Happy Birthday twice while you soap up ... that takes about 20 seconds. An added benefit - people may walk circles to avoid you; that eliminates some exposure. Check out the Poster Web page (http://www.healthmatters.idaho.gov/Posters.html ) for a variety of hand-washing posters.
