director plans statewide meetings
I
want to thank all of you for your help and
patience during the department’s leadership
transition the past few weeks. The process
could not have been as smooth or trouble-free
without your contributions ... After the
Legislature adjourns this spring, I plan
to visit each district and Headquarters
section to get to know you better.

ITD
prepares for Legislative presentations
ITD Director Pam
Lowe will join division administrators in
making two formal presentations at the Idaho
Legislature – the first Tuesday (Jan.
30) to members of the Senate and House transportation
committees. The presentation is scheduled
for 1:30 p.m. Next week’s presentation
will focus on programs and projects, with
an overview of the 2008 revenue request and
a report on the GARVEE-supported Connecting
Idaho program.

Empty
shoes emphasize need to use seat belts
Serving
as a silent reminder of lives lost in 2005 as a
result of not wearing seat belts, 126 pairs of shoes
were put on display on the Idaho Capital steps Wednesday
(Jan. 24) by the Idaho Seat Belt Coalition. The
Boise stop was part of a weeklong journey throughout
the state

Donations
accepted for military packages
Employees
at Headquarters have joined a campaign to meet the
basic needs of military personnel serving in Iraq.
A collection box has been set up in the Lobby for
the deposit of personal care items, non-perishable
food/snacks and entertainment such as CDs, DVDs,
games and reading material.

your safety, security in public places
Public
places are vulnerable to personal catastrophes,
and in an age of terrorism threats, people should
be prepared for the unexpected, according to information
provided by the Ada City-County Emergency Management
(ACCEM) office.

Employees
can access Form W-2s online
Beginning this week, state employees may view and/or
print their 2006 Form W-2 from the State Controller's
Office Web page. Instead of waiting for days or weeks
for a Form W-2 to arrive in the mail, employees may
retrieve their forms in minutes and print a copy from
the Web. This online service also allows employees
to access copies of their Form W-2s from previous
years, dating to tax year 2002.
