Qualified employees to see merit, short-term increases
The
Governor recommended and the 2006 Idaho Legislature
appropriated 3% ($2.6 million) funding for change
in employee compensation (CEC) for fiscal year 2006
and 2007. The Idaho Transportation Board allocated
additional ongoing salary and wage funding of $5.3
million to enhance the pay plan. In addition, one-time
funding has been allocated to provide short term merit
increases for the remainder of fiscal year 2006.

Semi-truck
plows into back of ITD snowplow
A 10-wheel ITD dump truck was damaged extensively
when struck from behind by a semi-tractor/trailer
carrying a full load of seed potatoes on snowy Interstate
15 Saturday (Jan. 28). Troy Stone, operator of the
snowplow, and the truck driver escaped with relatively
minor injuries.

Interstate
anniversary, ITD adorn phone directory
ITD and the 50th anniversary of the nation’s
interstate highway system will assume a prominent
place on bookshelves and desktops throughout the
state for the next year. The transportation department
was one of several state agencies that submitted
potential designs for the Idaho State Government
Telephone Directory.

Goertz comes to aid of Alaska agency
It’s
all in a day’s work, explains an unassuming
Margaret Goertz. Part of her professional responsibilities.
No more than colleagues do every day. John Moffat,
administrator of the National Highway Traffic Safety
Administration’s Pacific Northwest Region,
would respectfully disagree. He recently presented
Goertz, a grants administrator for ITD’s Office
of Traffic and Highway Safety, with a certificate
for her work to help counterparts in Alaska complete
federal reports on time.

Entry
of electronic timesheets successful
ITD's conversion to a new financial, procurement
and payroll system passed a major test with flying
colors when a segment of employees successfully
processed their timesheets electronically for the
pay period ending Jan. 28.
