Blue Cross of Idaho awarded state health insurance contract

The State of Idaho announced this week that Blue Cross of Idaho was the successful bidder to provide health insurance for state employees. The new contract is for Fiscal Year 2005, which begins July 1. More information will be provided later.


Board to consider acquisition of Banks to Lowman road
The Idaho Transportation Board will be asked to approve a cooperative agreement and grant authority to proceed with a plan to transfer the Banks to Lowman road from Boise County to state jurisdiction. The board will meet Monday and Tuesday (March 22, 23) in the auditorium at Headquarters.

Aviation festival reaches new heights
The 12th annual Idaho Aviation Festival (March 11-13) began on a high note Thursday night as more than 275 pilots from as far away as Montana and Oregon gathered in Boise for a Pilot Town Meeting with Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association (AOPA) President Phil Boyer.

Service awards to be presented Tuesday
The transportation board will pause Monday during its meeting in Boise to acknowledge the contributions of nearly 50 employees who reached service milestones in the last half of 2003. The Service Awards ceremony will begin at 10:30 a.m. in the auditorium at Headquarters.

Seat belt summit focuses on live-saving strategies
The “Idaho Click It, Don’t Risk It!” Seat Belt Summit brought together more than 220 safety professionals from around the state this week (Wednesday, March 17). The summit, sponsored by ITD’s Office of Highway Safety (OHS), focused on preventing fatalities in traffic crashes through the proper use of seat belts and booster seats.

Vision Services Plan (VSP), which provides vision benefits for Blue Shield subscribers, recently changed the way State of Idaho employees access its data base.
