Association of Idaho Cities supports increasing Idaho's transportation funding
The Association of Idaho Cities is requesting the legislature invest an additional $200 million annually to improve and maintain the state's roads and bridges. The association endorsed a resolution calling on the legislature to raise the state's fuel tax, vehicle registration and other fees to meet the growing demand on Idaho's transportation system.

Guest Opinion: For children, walking or riding a bike, skateboard or scooter is an adventure. For parents and teachers, it can help them encourage a child’s creativity, health and overall happiness. As an educator, I have observed that children who walk to school come better prepared to learn and have fewer behavioral problems. Safely walking to and from school can be a fun, social experience for children.

West Nile Virus returns to Idaho
Summer brings mosquitoes and yet another season of West Nile Virus outbreaks for the state. The virus was recently discovered in mosquito pools in southwest Idaho. Last year, Idaho led the nation in WNV infections, with approximately 1,000 people suffering from the effects of the virus.
