Water leak in downtown Boise requires multi-lane closure on Myrtle tonight
BOISE – Three lanes of Myrtle Road (U.S. 20/26) between 13th St and 8th Street will be closed overnight from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. to repair a leaking underground water pipe.
The potable water pipe, owned by SUEZ Water, is leaking and requires immediate repairs. The three left-most lanes will be closed to traffic on Myrtle between 9th and 8th street. Lanes will progressively close, beginning before 13th street. ITD urges motorists to drive cautiously and obey posted signs.
“The immediate repair of the water line is necessary to reduce damage to the roadway," said ITD District 3 Engineer Amy Revis. "We are working with SUEZ to restore the water line and minimize damage to the roadway.”
The repairs will require existing pavement to be removed to
access the leak. It will be patched with new asphalt when repairs are complete. SUEZ will cover all costs for these repairs.
