Speed reduction to begin Tuesday, Aug. 6 on I-84 construction zone in Nampa
NAMPA – The Idaho Transportation Department is implementing a full-time speed reduction within the construction work zone on Interstate 84 between the Karcher/Midland and Franklin Blvd interchanges in Nampa. The change will take effect Tuesday, Aug. 6.
In an effort to maintain safety as the top priority for motorists and construction crews, ITD will reduce the speed limit to 55 mph through the construction work zone. This change coincides with a new traffic pattern on I-84 at the Franklin Blvd. interchange.
ITD is partnering with Idaho State Police to focus on highway safety with enhanced patrols through work zones and consistent communication between the agencies.
“It’s important that we remind motorists to slow down, plan ahead and pay attention to traffic changes in the coming months,” said ITD Project Manager Styles Salek. “This is a large project on a busy interstate. Safety is, and will remain, our number 1 priority.”
