Highway surface sealing planned for Aberdeen, American Falls
POCATELLO - Two companion projects to seal the surfaces of Idaho 39 in Aberdeen and the Interstate 86 Business Loop in American Falls will require lane reductions and minor delays for motorists next week, the Idaho Transportation Department announced.
Work will begin on sealing Idaho 39 the entire one-half mile length through Aberdeen on Tuesday. A related project will seal the business loop from the I-86 Interchange (exit 36) to Idaho Street in American Falls. That project will begin Wednesday and likely will extend into Thursday.
The project includes sealing the newly paved highway, filling minor cracks that may have developed in construction and leveling low points to provide a smooth surface for motorists. Intermountain Slurry Seal of Utah will do the work for prime contractor JB Parsons as part of a $1.8 million overlay and seal coat project.
Motorists should expect lane closures and delays if traveling through the project.
