I-84 lane restrictions, ramp closure at Eisenman Interchange to begin Sunday (Sept. 16) for I-84 Broadway to Eisenman project
BOISE - Traffic changes begin near the Eisenman Interchange Sunday evening (Sept. 16) for the I-84 Broadway to Eisenman pavement rehabilitation project, the Idaho Transportation Department announced.
East- and westbound I-84 will be reduced to one lane in each direction at 5 p.m. Sunday between the Gowen and Eisenman interchanges. These lane restrictions will continue until mid-November, when construction stops for winter.
In addition, the I-84 westbound on-ramp at Eisenman Road will close Sunday for approximately three weeks for work near the ramp.
The I-84 Broadway to Eisenman project will rehabilitate 6.1 miles of interstate between the Broadway Avenue and Eisenman Road interchanges. It begins a series of interstate improvements planned for the Treasure Valley through the GARVEE Transportation Program. The program uses Grant Anticipation Revenue Vehicle (GARVEE) bonds to design and construct needed improvements throughout the state in less time than through traditional funding methods.
A Sept. 27 dedication ceremony will kick off GARVEE funded-work on the I-84 East corridor, which includes several improvements between the Wye Interchange and Eisenman Road. The ceremony is planned for 10 a.m. Sept. 27 on the Eisenman Interchange.
Residents and businesses also are encouraged to attend an Oct. 2 open house at Idaho Ice World (7072 S. Eisenman Rd. in Boise) to learn about upcoming traffic impacts. The open house will run from 4 to 7 p.m.
Western Construction of Boise is the contractor for the $12 million I-84 Broadway to Eisenman pavement rehabilitation project.
