MEDIA ADVISORY (Not for dissemination)

BOISE - The Idaho Transportation Department, its Division of Motor Vehicles, and the Idaho Department of Correction invite you to a Sept. 25 news conference to introduce our new digital license plate process and unveil four new specialty license plates.

The news conference will begin promptly at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 25. Following brief remarks, we invite you to view the new digital license plate making process at Correctional Industries. The demonstration will be of actual license plates in production and should provide great visual opportunities for you to share with your audience/readers.

This may be the only opportunity we have to show you and your audience the plate-making process from inside Correctional Industries.

If you are able to attend, please be aware of the following Idaho Department of Correction requirements:
  • We ask that you provide a list of the people from your organization who plan to attend. Please include name, Social Security number and Date of Birth in the confirmation no later than 8:30 a.m., Monday, Sept. 24,  to mel.coulter@itd.idaho.gov
  • Please be prepared to show photo ID at the main gate of the facility for identity verification
  • Corrections requires that all visitors dress in business casual attire: no blue jeans, tank tops or provocative clothing
  • No tobacco products of any kind are allowed on the facility
  • No firearms or other instruments that could be construed as weapons
  • Please leave all cell phones in your vehicle
  • Bags, purses, etc. will be searched
We hope you will be able to join us, despite the short notice.
