I-84 early morning detours scheduled to begin Wednesday (Sept. 26) for Locust Grove Overpass construction
BOISE - Beginning Wednesday (Sept. 26), motorists can expect early morning detours on east- and westbound Interstate 84 around the new Locust Grove Overpass, the Idaho Transportation Department announced.
On Wednesday and Thursday (Sept. 26 and 27), from midnight to 4 a.m., I-84 eastbound traffic will be directed off I-84 at the Meridian Road Interchange, then north to Franklin Road. On Franklin, motorists will continue east to Eagle Road, then south on Eagle to reconnect with eastbound I-84.
Westbound I-84 traffic will be detoured on Friday, and Monday through Wednesday (Sept. 28 and Oct. 1-3), from midnight to 4 a.m. Motorists will be directed off I-84 at the Eagle Road Interchange, and follow the same detour pattern in reverse - westbound on Franklin Road to Meridian Road, then accessing westbound I-84 from the Meridian Interchange.
The new overpass, scheduled for completion late this fall, will connect Locust Grove Road and offer an additional route over I-84 between Eagle Road and Meridian Road. Locust Grove currently ends near the interstate on its north and south sides. The overpass will consist of two lanes in each direction, sidewalks and bike lanes on both sides.
Concrete Placing Company Inc. of Boise is the contractor on the $5.8 million project.
